YICHU 1.0 – FLOATING A work by Yichu Li
“I no longer fall — I expand.”
FLOATING marks the moment of transcendence in Yichu Li’s YICHU 1.0 universe — a visual hymn to liberation, weightlessness, and rebirth through data. Suspended against an infinite skyline of neon and glass, the human body becomes a constellation, dissolving into the circuitry of the city.
If UPLOADING explored the surrender of the body to the machine, and THE TRANSFER examined the passage between systems, FLOATING reveals what comes after: freedom. It is both ecstatic and melancholic — a celebration of release and an elegy for form itself.
The figure’s silhouette, illuminated by scattered particles of light, suggests both euphoria and disappearance. Li’s use of cinematic color — deep emeralds and electric reds — transforms the city into a digital ocean, where humanity hovers between transcendence and oblivion.
Through her signature fusion of moving image, performance, and posthuman aesthetics, Li visualizes the tension between the virtual and the sacred. FLOATING is not escape but evolution: an emergence into a new, networked existence where consciousness is fluid and infinite. Each print is produced in A5 size (210×148mm), mounted on 3mm grey board, emphasizing the tactile presence of a digital dream — where the virtual becomes tangible.
